Location

Ewe Close Farm is located between the villages of Gilcrux and Arkleby in the north west region of Cumbria.

Directions:

From Carlisle:
Follow A595 out of city to Cockermouth. Continue past Wigton / M6 Sebergham Junction. Bypass Bothel. After Moota Restaurant, and just before Moota Quarry at top of hill after long straight - Take B5301 right turn, signed Parsonby, Gilcrux and Aspatria. At the bottom of a steep hill turn left at a small crossroad (signed to Gilcrux). At the T-junction by Farm turn left again. Pass a row of ten terraced houses on your right. Immediately at end of this terrace turn left up narrow lane to the farm.

From Aspatria:
Travelling West bound on A596, at Town Centre Monument (by Petrol Station). Follow signs left for B5301 and Railway Station. Travelling downhill past the rugby club on the left, then over rail bridge. Continue out of town and over River. Continue uphill to T- junction (Telephone Box on Left - White cottage on Right). Turn Right. Follow signs to Wardhall and Gilcrux. Pass a left turn (before a farm) and pass a row of ten terraced houses on your right. Immediately at end of this terrace turn left up narrow lane to the farm.From Workington and Cockermouth:

From Workington take A595 / A66 to Cockermouth. At Roundabout West of Cockermouth take A595 (over river) to Carlisle. At next Roundabout (Papcastle) straight across and follow directions to Carlisle. Just after Moota Quarry on left at top of hill after long straight. Take B5301 Left  turn signed Parsonby, Gilcrux and Aspatria. At the bottom of a steep hill turn left at a small crossroad (signed to Gilcrux). At the T-junction by Farm turn left again. Pass a row of ten terraced houses on your right. Immediately at end of this terrace turn left up narrow lane to the farm.

From Keswick:
From the large roundabout on the A66 at Keswick, take the A591 signed to Carlisle. Continue on this road (approx. 25 minutes) until you reach the large T-junction at Bothel (wind turbines on your left). Turn left on to the A595. After Moota Restaurant, and just before Moota Quarry - Take B5301 right turn, signed Parsonby, Gilcrux and Aspatria. At the bottom of a steep hill turn left at a small crossroad (signed to Gilcrux). At the T-junction by Farm turn left again. Pass a row of ten terraced houses on your right. Immediately at end of this terrace turn left up narrow lane to the farm.
