School Visits

At Ewe Close there is a learning opportunity around every corner.

The farming environment can provided a basis for practically every subject in the National Curriculum. We have identified topics in each of the Key Stages and identified ways in which these can be taught on the farm.

14 students visit to look at Genetic defects in Sheep, learn about stock management and record keeping, and watch in as our cows are checked for pregnancy.

Fairfield Infant School
4th March 2008

A fun day was had by all when we visited the School. Sixty 5 & 6 year olds were shown how to spin, made their own flock of sheep, used a peg loom to weave a rug and were introduced to the star of the show, our pet lamb, Horace!
